Welcome to the Fremont Chapter Website
The Fremont Chapter serves all communities in Fremont County. It is located in central Wyoming in the shadow of the Wind River Range of the Rocky Mountains.
Riverton is known for hosting an annual balloon rally and Rendezvous. The Rendezvous is held at the confluence of the Big and Little Wind Rivers near Riverton. These ‘fairs’ were held here in 1830 and 1838—where trappers, traders, Indians and others came together to barter and trade goods.
About our Chapter
The Fremont Chapter became a chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution on 30 January 1976. Pat Townsend was the Chapter Organizing Regent with 16 charter members.
Meetings are held in Riverton, Wyoming on the second Saturday of the month September through May. A Christmas luncheon or other event is held in December. If you live in the area and are interested in finding out more about your local NSDAR chapter contact Martha.
The DAR was founded in 1890 and now has over 175,000 members throughout our country and abroad. It is a volunteer women’s service organization whose objectives are historic preservation, patriotism, and education.
The DAR Library is one of the world’s premier genealogical research centers. Among NSDAR records are thousands of names of Revolutionary War patriots that have been proven by members.
