Riverton is known for hosting an annual balloon rally and Rendezvous.  The Rendezvous is held at the confluence of the Big and Little Wind Rivers near Riverton.  These ‘fairs’ were held here in 1830 and 1838—where trappers, traders,  Indians and others came together to barter and trade goods.
